Voting in Vermont

ONLY STUDENTS WHO ARE STUDYING IN VERMONT ARE ELIGIBLE TO VOTE IN VERMONT’S 2020 ELECTION. CHECK YOUR VOTER REGISTRATION STATUS HERE.

To vote in Vermont, you must:

  1. Register before or on Election Day. We recommend you register online using Vermont’s online voter portal. To register, you will need a valid Vermont driver’s license or the last four digits of your Social Security Number (SSN).
  2. Complete and return your absentee ballot ASAP or vote in-person on Election Day. Vermont will be sending all registered voters a mail-in ballot due to health threats posed by Covid-19. Your ballot will arrive at the mailing location you indicated as your address when you registered. Mail completed ballots to 77 Main St., Middlebury, VT 05753. All ballots must be received by Election Day. In-person voting takes place at 154 Creek Rd., Middlebury, VT 05753 from 7am-7pm. Bring a valid form of ID to the polls, just in case.

Important notes:

If you have registered to vote in Middlebury after September 21st and would like to vote-by-mail, reach out to the Middlebury Town Clerk to ensure you receive a ballot.

If you registered to vote at a different mailbox, or now live off-campus, you can change your address by updating your information on Vermont’s online voter portal.
